I have been interested in art and design from as long as I can remember.  As a child I would copy my fathers’  drawings before going onto creating my own work.  I very nearly went to college to study design but in the end chose a different career path.  However, being in full time work meant there was little time for creating art and hence I became a “Leisure” artist.

I do find that not only is drawing and painting extremely enjoyable it is also very therapeutic.  I love learning new techniques and using different mediums and currently work in pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolour, acrylic, oil and collage.  I particularly like drawing and painting animals, portraits and life but I get great pleasure from drawing and painting any subject.

There are many art groups and societies in the area and I have found these very useful in helping develop my artistic abilities and hope to continue to learn throughout my lifetime.  I have recently joined Artempo and through group discussions have found inspiration and support.
